WHAT IS A POLICE EXPLORER?

The Police Explorer program is open to individuals between the ages of 14 (having completed the 8th grade) and 20 years old. Explorers are affiliated with a specific law enforcement agency's Explorer posts, enabling them to gain valuable insights into the policing profession and its operations.

HOW DO I BECOME A POLICE EXPLORER?

To inquire about joining a Police Explorer program, we recommend contacting your local law enforcement agency and inquiring about the availability of an Explorer Post within their jurisdiction. If an Explorer Posts exists, request the contact information for the designated Post Advisor and reach out to them for further details on the application process.

In the event that your local agency does not have an active Explorer Post, you may explore opportunities with neighboring law enforcement agencies, as residency within the municipality is generally not a prerequisite for participation in Police Explorer programs.
